Ghee is an essential ingredient in Ayurveda and rightly so. It contains several powerful antioxidants, essential vitamins, healthy omega-3 fatty acids, and anti-inflammatory properties. Ghee is commonly used in cooking, but its uses and benefits aren’t restricted to just the kitchen. If you want to improve your health from the inside out, start using ghee daily. Even if applying ghee on chapped lips or dried elbows might seem unconventional, Ayurveda prescribes external use of ghee.
Benefits of Ghee for Skin
Ghee is rich in several helpful vitamins such as Vitamin A, D, and E. These three vitamins help maintain skin’s natural elasticity. If you have noticed, most skincare products include some additional vitamin E for nourishing the skin. Start substituting expensive anti-aging products with pure ghee for better and natural results. Regular consumption of natural ghee is believed to cleanse the colon. This is one of the simplest and most effective ways to maintain your overall health. The butyrate in ghee helps the removal of toxins building up within through bowel movements. When your body starts to detoxify from within, your skin’s health improves. It, in turn, can reduce the appearance of spots and blemishes while brightening the skin.
External use of ghee as a topical cream or facemask can help your skin absorb the helpful nutrients and antioxidants. Combine ghee with other natural ingredients like sandalwood powder, honey, and turmeric for an instant glow facemask. With regular use, it can help reduce pigmentation while improving the skin’s brightness. Since ghee has anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used as a topical salve to treat skin irritations. From dryness to mild skin rashes, you can treat it all with some ghee. The healthy omega-3 fatty acids present in ghee help with all this.
Ghee in Skincare
Now that you are aware of the different benefits it offers, here are simple ways to incorporate ghee into your regular skincare routine.
Hand And Cuticle Care
Move over expensive hand and cuticle creams. The next time you head into the kitchen, apply a little ghee as a hand, and cuticle cream. Rub it in slowly and thoroughly to keep your cuticles fresh and reduce dryness of hands.
Chapped Lips
It can also be used to treat chapped, dried, and cracked lips. Merely rub a little ghee on your lips and resist the temptation to lick this delicious goodness. Use ghee regularly as a lip balm, and you’ll have beautiful, supple, and luscious lips within no time.
Fix Dryness
Elbows and knees are two parts of the body that need a little extra hydration. Use ghee as a topical cream to remedy this situation. If you are tired of dealing with dry and cracked heels, start rubbing a little ghee on your heels and feet at night. Don’t forget to slip on some socks after the ghee rub before sleeping.
Overall Hydration
For extremely soft and thoroughly hydrated skin, add a little ghee to your bathwater and your favorite essential oils. Allow your body to soak in the goodness of ghee.
Soft Hair
You can also use ghee to improve your hair’s health. Mix a tablespoon each of ghee and olive or coconut oil, warm it up, and gently massage it into your scalp. Let the scalp soak in all the goodness of ghee before washing your hair. This simple remedy can increase the hair’s volume while leaving it soft to touch.
Eye-Makeup Remover
Ghee can be used as an effective eye-makeup remover. Dab a little ghee over the eyes, and gently wipe it away with cotton. This natural eye-makeup remover is easily available and enriched with vitamin E too! You can also add a drop of vitamin E extract to ghee before using it as a makeup remover. Vitamin E not only nourishes your skin but also will leave it supple and well moisturized.
Treat Cuts And Bruises
The healing properties of turmeric can be further enhanced with ghee. If there are any pesky cuts, bruises, or scrapes that need a little extra love to heal, use the turmeric and ghee paste. This topical salve’s anti-inflammatory properties can speed up the healing process.
If you want to improve your skin’s health while leaving it feeling supple, soft, and shiny, start using Velamore’s authentic ghee. Add it to your diet and make it a part of your skincare regime, to see an improvement in your skin’s health.
